    Great place

My favourite place in Dublin. Pints are €4, the music is great (although some live bands seemed out of place), quite central but outside of the busy tourist path, which means that people who get there tend not to be there by chance and actually enjoy metal. Also, the original Thin Lizzy sign on the back wall gives this place an extra dose of awesome, in addition to the friendly staff and overall nice vide. Pity they don't have more metal gigs though.

    The best bar in Dublin.

Fibbers Rock Bar is one of Dublin's newest additions to the rock and metal scene. It opened in January 2010 and has been like a second home to me since. This is easily the cheapest metal bar in Dublin and is, by far, the best! The DJ's have a huge collection of music and are great at playing requests - unlike most bars in Dublin. There are 3 regular DJs, each bringing their own specialities with everything from classic heavy metal, glam, gothic, thrash, black, alternative, death, nu-metal, industrial, doom, grunge, power, punk, prog, folk, hard rock, stoner and more. There's also live bands playing every weekend. The jukebox has a huge selection of music available. It's based on Ormond Quay, Dublin 2 and is very easy to get to by foot, bus, car or Luas. They have drinks promotions weekly where all drinks are just €3.50 all night and admission is free! Even on nights when drinks promotions aren't on, the prices are great. Especially compared to the rival rock and metal bars in Dublin. The staff are extremely friendly and you're guaranteed to have a good laugh with them. The customers are great. There's always a fantastic crowd there. There's a pool table too, which is definitely a good addition to any bar. You're always guaranteed a good night in Fibbers Rock Bar. Great Rock Bar

Great Rock Bar. I’ve been drinking in here quite a bit since it opened and always enjoy a few pints in here soundtracked with some Metal. The staff are very friendly and are always welcoming and efficient. The beer is very cheap too with all pints and shorts between 4 and 5 euro. They do pitchers off all the selection of beers available on tap too. The jukebox is chock-a-block full of quality Metal with everything from extreme stuff, Black and Death to Classic Rock to Power Metal, Prog, etc. The walls are decorated with typical framed Metal band-posters but at the back, overlooking the pool table, there is a huge blinking Thin Lizzy stage backdrop that was used in the Live and Dangerous Tour. There is nice comfortable seating and plenty of floor-space for standing. At weekends they tend to have either a DJ or a live band performing. Most bands that play tend to be cover bands churning out classic rock stuff but the acoustics are great when bands are performing, there is clarity in the sound and when the jukebox/DJ is on you never have to raise your voice when chatting. The crowd is a nice mix of people too but generally rockers/metalheads at weekends. All in all a top quality friendly Rock Bar.
