Hi Gnoff,

of course the MATRIX Bochum is a must see for anyone who is into Hard Rock or Heavy Metal, not only regulary concerts from a lot of Heavy Metal and gothic related bands, the best thing is the Rockpalace inside the Matrix, which is in my opinion the state of art metal disco in Germany. But you won`t find extreme stuff like black & death metal there.

For these topics you should better try the Helvete Metal Club in Oberhausen.

Hi,

in Düsseldorf there is a special party for extreme metal held from time to time, check their dates on : www.clubcarnage.de/ .

Otherwise, the Ruhrarea is not far away, its 30 minutes by train to ESSEN (TUROCK; NORD;PANIC ROOM), or 45 minutes to OBERHAUSEN (HELVETE) <--- this is definatly a palce you will love if you are into extreme metal!!!.

For special public transport information you can ask me or on any other detail you would like to now about clubs in North Rhine Westphalia.

My favourites are:

Germany, Berlin : HALFORD (classic 80es style as hell, best metal pub around!)

Germany, Bremen: Rockpalast ALADIN (a very big rock temple)

Germany, Ruhrarea, Bochum: MATRIX (Maybe the biggest Rock+ Metalplace in Europe, 5 Areas, Rock and Metal always in Rockpalast )

Germany, Ruhrarea, Oberhausen: HELVETE ( A real big and dark Metal Bar with 2 disco areas in the cellar)


Turkey, Istanbul: DOROCK Everyone who was there knows, its is not the only good rock place in Istanbul, but the ultimate one for Heavy Metal!!

England, London ELECTRIC BALLROOM: Exspecially on the Sin City Party every Friday a ultimate Metal Place, as a bar i would prefer THE CROWBAR in Soho or THE HOBGOBLIN

Lithuania, Vilnius BIX BARAS: Great atmosthere at the weekends, nice girls and rock party

France, Marceilles BLACKHAND INN: This is the Hard in Heavy Place in Southern France, the owner is an absolut fan of german style 80es Heavy Metal and excatly that is what you can expect

Czech Republic, Prague HELLS BELLS PUB I had some good memories on this pub

Slovakia, Bratislava ALIGATOR ROCK Best Rock Pub in Town for Party, RANDALLS CLUB (at the YMCA) is a second good place there

This are the Places which i could advise a visitor to go in Europe, for metal interested People Northrhine Wesphelia in Germany makes a lot of sence, with its Metallocations in the RUHRAREA...this is the Metalheart of whole Germany.
