Der Clochard

A rather run-down and long established pub with a jukebox full of Metal CDs, located directly at the famous Reeperbahn. Cheap drinks and open 24 hours. You can also sit outside at the cage-like balcony and see what's going on in the street.

Lex I didn't know what I was walking into when I first ventured up here. It was pretty empty, and the bartender creeped me out, but after a drink some very friendly metalheads appeared and then some more. There was some illegal activities going on (which I approve of), and I liked the bartender more with each drink poured. It is grungy but fun (with the right people popping in), and not as scary as it looks.
Stolas Trephinator Oh man, it doesn't get danker and dirtier than Der Clochard. We just don't have dives like this in America anymore. A great place to swill Astra, listen to Manowar, and admire the lights of St. Pauli from the second-floor balcony. Just don't come expecting a clean bathroom or framed posters--this place is for DRINKING.

CarlaWe were told by some German guys not to visit here unless we were seriously drunk and were warned that people don't leave for days. I was expecting a dive and yeah its a bit run down but the drinks are cheap enough, the dukebox is AWESOME & i had one of the best nights of my life so far in Der Clochard. We went back a few nights later and had another great night. Worth a visit even if you only want to drink a few beers and sit out in the balcony watching dawn break on the Reeperbahn!

SOD_WF Been here a few times over the years - a great dive with a metal / hard rock jukebox. This pub is best left for when everything else is shut (i.e. 5am or so) and you want to go in for a laugh at the "corpses" (passed out drunks) littering the lounge area of this pub. Also good for the birds cage balcony from which to spy the "fun" happening on the Reeperbahn at this time also!

mr corpseGreat bar in the middle of the repperbahn, bit run down, cheap drinks, brilliant jukebox packed full of metal cds. Id say worth checking out after having a few beers else where.
