Access was the first bar i went to on my last visit to Berlin in May 08 - musically not my thing (Death Metal mostly) but the beer was good and fairly priced. I don't speak much german just enough to order drinks and food but the guy at the bar seemed ok and it wasn't that busy - we arrived there early as we had lots of other bars to check out that weekend. I'd figured that this would be a great place to visit but after a bloody long walk to get there I was left feeling short changed.

No atmoshere whatsoever and a volume control never in danger of reaching 11. This is the first place that I've been to in Europe where I haven't ended up chatting to a random local/travelling metaller after about 5 minutes.

Too many posers, maybe it was just a bad night but I doubt I'll be back to sample another.

This bar has everything a good metal bar needs EXCEPT FUCKING FRIENDLY TENANTS! Don't dare asking them to play a song, be prepared to wait half an hour to get the beer you just ordered. Oh and by the way: the music is barely hearable so you'd better bring your own radio if you want to enjoy your evening.

You like it extreme? You need some more Bathory, Burzum, Morbid Angel, Immortal, Cannibal Corpse or more SLAYER?? Then this is your pub! Cool atmosphere, very nice staff and a great range of beers! They show DVDs of underground bands like Windir or Mortician on video wall and TV! Sometimes football on video wall. The best beer is Grolsch, but they have Becks, Coroner, Berliner Pilsener, Desperado etc too! Definitely one of the best places for Metal and beer I know. And I know a lot!
