I was taken to PRKL by a barman from another bar (a very average rock bar) when I asked him about 'decent' metal bars. Man, I'm glad I asked. PRKL was fun even on the quiet nights as they played decent music. I went before Tuska 2011 and met a heap of great people, and just after Tuska, it was f*$%ing packed. A great place with great people and great music, right in the heart of Hellstinki!

We probably spent most of our time during our time in Helsinki in PRKL, which is just off the Station Square on Kaisaniemenkatu. Looks the part, with a lower floor which looked like it ran metal nights (though we didn't venture down for a look).

Bar staff are friendly, the music is pretty decent and the beer is comparable in price (5 Euro for half a litre of Koff. For the Brits, that's not quite a pint!)

One of the better bars to check out, definitely worth a visit.
