We've been in the pub on two different evenings, one it was rather metalcore/new metal and similar stuff, the other had power metal. Think it depends heavily on the DJ/barkeeper. Weren't there on the weekend, so it wasn't very crowded, but it is definitely a cool place to hang out! Nice staff, nice guests, beer prices are okay. Not very far from the main train station.

Notice, that there are actually three Bakers in same complex: Bar&Cafe, Nightclub and Pub(that´s the place, where they play heavier stuff). There is different entrance to Pub. Addres is Mannerheimintie, but you actually go in at Kalevankatu(street that leaves from Mannerheimintie). Bar&cafe is at street level, nightclub upstairs(if I remember correctly) and Pub in cellar. Pay a little attention and take a few more drunken steps...you won´t miss it!!!

I've been visiting Bakers downstairs for years and it definitely is a hard rock/metal oriented pub at least duríng weekend nights. Nothing really special there but nice place to have a beer or three..

thats definitely not a place for metalists or rockers! the bar down stairs is more of a cafe and people barely sit there. most of them just go upstairs to the night club.

I stop by here every time I am in Helsinki. On weekends it is packed with a crowd that is mixed leather jackets and business suits, but everybody is into the pure metal that they play. I have been in on a quiet night when the bartender had the time to play local metal bands for me and to make music recommendations, and the personal attention is really special!

I love this bar! It has a great atmosphere, friendly people and great barstaff who play requests from an extensive metal collection. Well worth visiting!
